Cookies are short text fragments (letters and/or numbers) that allow the web server to store information on the client (the browser) to reuse during the same visit to the site (session cookies) or later, even after days (persistent cookies).
Cookies are stored, based on user preferences, by the single browser on the specific device used (computer, tablet, smartphone).
Similar technologies, such as web beacons, transparent GIFs, and all forms of local storage introduced with HTML5, can be used to collect information on user behavior and service usage.
In this document, we will refer to cookies and all similar technologies simply as "cookies".
Based on the characteristics and use of cookies, we can distinguish different categories:
Strictly necessary cookies. These are essential cookies for the proper functioning of the sites and are used to manage login and access to reserved site features. The duration of these cookies is generally limited to the session of work (they are deleted when the browser is closed), but in some cases, without any kind of warning, longer-duration cookies (expiring in 30 days) may be used to recognize the visitor's computer for that period, through an alphanumeric code generated at the first access session, in order to propose the result of the test performed by the user. Their deactivation compromises the use of services accessible by login. The public part of the sites remains normally usable.
Analysis and performance cookies. These cookies are used to collect and analyze site traffic and usage in an anonymous way. These cookies, even without identifying the user, allow, for example, the detection if the same user returns to connect at different times. They also allow monitoring the system and improving its performance and usability. Deactivating these cookies can be done without any loss of functionality.
Profiling cookies. These are permanent cookies used to identify (anonymously and non-anonymously) user preferences and improve their browsing experience.
While browsing the web, cookies can be received both from the visited site (“owners”) and from sites managed by other organizations (“third parties”). A notable example is the presence of “social plugins” for Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc. These are parts of the visited page generated directly by the aforementioned sites and integrated into the hosting site’s page. The most common use of social plugins is to share content on social networks.
The presence of these social plugins involves the transmission of cookies to and from all sites managed by third parties. The management of information collected by “third parties” is governed by the relevant policies to which please refer. For greater transparency and convenience, the web addresses of the various policies and cookie management methods are provided below.

The sites also include certain components transmitted by Google Analytics, a web traffic analysis service provided by Google, Inc. (“Google”). In this case, these are third-party cookies collected and managed anonymously to monitor and improve the performance of the hosting site (performance cookies).
Google Analytics uses “cookies” to collect and analyze in anonymous form information about the behavior of website usage (including the user’s IP address). This information is collected by Google Analytics, which processes it to compile reports for operators regarding website activities. This site does not use (and does not allow third parties to use) the Google analysis tool to monitor or collect personally identifiable information. Google does not associate the IP address with any other data held by Google nor attempts to link an IP address with the identity of a user. Google may also communicate this information to third parties where required by law or where such third parties process the information on Google’s behalf.

The user can selectively disable the action of Google Analytics by installing on their browser the opt-out component provided by Google. To disable the action of Google Analytics, refer to the link below: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout
Some cookies (session cookies) remain active only until the browser is closed or the logout command is executed. Other cookies “survive” the closure of the browser and are available in subsequent user visits.
These cookies are called persistent, and their duration is set by the server at the time of their creation. In some cases, an expiration date is set; in others, the duration is unlimited.
However, browsing the web pages, one can interact with sites managed by third parties that can create or modify permanent and profiling cookies.
